Nothing is more painful than being trapped in a car that’s full of people while driving to a destination that’s hours away. But the Family Travel Games website has the perfect solution. Its 101 Travel Word Games can turn this dreaded scenario into a fun, entertaining occasion that will help make time fly and even bring you closer to your travel mates.

The games don’t require pen, paper or any other materials, just a group of travelers willing to be part of the fun. Ideal for families traveling with young children, who often get restless on road trips, the games can be enjoyed by travelers of all ages.

One of the games featured is Eye Spy. The rules are simple: Player one spots an object in the car and doesn’t tell the other players what it is. Then you give one clue and the other players take turns trying to figure out what the object is by asking yes or no questions. The first player to guess correctly spies the next object. In another game, Incognito, player one thinks of a famous person and gives the other players a two-word description about the figure using that person’s first and last initials. Players then ask questions to try to reveal that person’s identity.

Once you enter the site, simply click on ‘See the Game List’ icon on the left, and this will take you to the page with all the different games. Simply select a game, print out the instructions and you’re ready to go. The games are selected from the popular book called 101 Travel Word Games for Fun on the Road, which was written by the website’s creator, and the list is updated monthly so you’ll have a new game to play every time you hit the road. You can even submit rules for a game you’ve created for other travelers to enjoy. Your game may even get crowned the ‘Submission of the Month,’ as the most liked by travelers.

Users recommend that you print out a few games before embarking on your journey and store them in your glove compartment for easy access. If you’re a frequent traveler, you can invest in buying the whole book and have all 101 games handy at anytime. What a great way to keep the kids busy and your sanity intact.  tt
